Ballyvolane · A short run from Glanmire

BJJ nearGlanmire

There’s no Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club in Glanmire itself. The nearest mats are ours, in Ballyvolane — a short drive west, on the same side of the city, and nowhere near the centre.

Adults gi and NoGi six days a week. Kids classes Monday to Thursday, at 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Free parking outside the door.

Glanmire has plenty going on for GAA, soccer and the gym. It has nothing for grappling — anyone who wants to train jiu-jitsu is travelling for it either way.

The question is which direction. Into the city centre means traffic, paid parking and a longer evening. Ballyvolane is on your side of the city, off the main routes, with free parking at the door.

If you already commute past this way, the lunchtime classes are the quiet secret — 1:00pm, Monday to Friday, in and out before the afternoon.

Families

One trip, two of you

The 5:30pm kids classes — Mighty Mights 1 on Tuesday and Thursday, Juniors on Monday and Wednesday — finish at 6:15pm, and the adults session starts at 6:30pm. Drop your child in, train yourself, and drive home together.

We’d normally suggest letting them get on with the class rather than watching from the side — they concentrate better without an audience. Either way it’s one journey, not two.

Which class your child goes into depends on age, size and ability, so have a word with Yvonne on 085 123 4539 before the first session.
